Peru has one of the highest wage gaps in Latin America, 29.6%. That’s why on the International Women’s Day, we launched Bank on Equality, a banking initiative that levels the wage difference between man and women. We measured authorized data to compare all of our female client’s salaries with that of a male counterpart, recognizing critical variables such as age, occupation, geographic location, etc. This allowed us to know the specific wage difference for each one of our female clients. In turn, Scotiabank would automatically fill that salary gap with the bank’s own currency: Scotiapoints.
